In December of 1991, I was lucky enough—through a series of chance events—to get eight minutes with Sean Connery. His handlers told me that I could ask him about anything but that two items were verboten: his “Scotland Forever” tattoo and his feelings about haggis. (I would have thought that he was tired of talking about 007, but I was wrong.) We met on the set of Medicine Man, the adventure film he was shooting with Lorraine Bracco; this was near the rainforest in Catemaco, Mexico and each day was sunny and in the 70s—it didn’t feel like the Christmas season, but I couldn’t think of a better gift than a conversation with someone whose films I had been watching my entire life.
He was every bit as charismatic in person as on screen and, while the sound quality of the tape might be less-than-perfect, I cleaned up the audio as best I could.
Merry Christmas!
Is this the podcast equivalent of “Made you look!”? (Which I used to do, quite a lot…. ) I went back and forth quite a bit, usually feeling about 75% sure my leg was being pulled…. Ended up at about 97.43%. (I’d bet a LOT, but not the house.)
Is this legit - that is one bizarre interview.
