I’m excited to announce that at the end of the January, I’ll be leading a reading group on Ulysses for The Catherine Project. You can read more about this great organization here on their website, or here in my essay about my experience as a reader and leader.
For each of the past reading groups I have led, I’ve sent out a one-page summary of our discussion after each meeting. It’s a great way to remember all of the interesting and intelligent observations made as we move through a book. This time, I’m going to post these summaries online so that anyone can read them. If you’re interested in following along with the 2026 Ulysses group and reading about our discussions, you can subscribe to this section for free. Just go to the Pages and Frames site, find the section “Ulysses Readalong 2026” along the top, and subscribe.
If you already subscribe to Page and Frames, you will not be automatically subscribed to this section; you need to opt-in. (To do this, go to the “Reads” section that lists all of your subscriptions, click on Pages and Frames, and then hit the button for “Ulysses Readalong 2026.” On a desktop, look at your list of subscriptions, click Pages and Frames, and then “Manage Subscription.” You’ll then see the sections of Pages and Frames to which you can subscribe. Substack makes some things more difficult than they should be.)
Note that this won’t be like some of the long reads found on Substack, where there are daily updates. I’ll just post the summaries each week in case you want to read the novel or are already a fan and are curious about the kinds of conversations held in a Catherine Project reading group.
If you’re interested in joining one of the many Catherine Project reading groups, add yourself to their mailing list so that you receive the announcement for summer courses.
See you in Dublin!

I applied! It was my first and only choice! I'm leading two groups of my own!
